Going Out with a Bang Part I

Better late than never for the wedding update...
Thursday, May 25 2006:
There must have been a delay in LA as there always is. Landed in Vegas - or a humidor � 8pm in the evening. The �shuttle bus� took half an hour. We passed our hotel 10 times. Got to our room. Big screen TV welcome. Big windows overlooking the gazebo where we were going to be married. 18th floor view of our fate. Dinner � French onion soup.
First day in Vegas (Friday). Marriage license bureau. Forgot to take off �going to be married� signs above our heads as we were getting congratulated by complete strangers. The office was full of Would-Be-Marrieds. Sort of like a passport office but less people making fun of would be wbmarrieds (ie. us). It�s like everyone is in pre-nuptual mode. We step out of a taxi and a guy walks up and says �Marriage License Office is thata way�. What? Did I look like a needed a greencard ASAP?
The rest of the day is a blur of meeting up with parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, friends and going to buffets. FYI, if you DON�T want bits of plastic, metal shavings, or pieces of pvc in your food, have the more pricey buffet. It will be worth not having to sign a disclosure agreement.
took busses, monorails, elevators that went up diagonally..
tried my luck at the slot machines.
won 65 bucks on nickel slots. Won 4 dollars on penny slots. Lost 20 bucks on dollar slots. they had hundred and thousand dollar ones but when i checked Michael's wallet when he was sleeping - he didn't have that much to spare.
