knit 1 purl 2

while i was creeping other people's diaries the other day i got inspired to learn how to knit. over the weekend i took out books from the library, bought materials, and made a (crap) hat for Luke. it's way too big. it droops down to his shoulders like a multicoloured wig. he tolerated it for 2 minutes then pulled it off his head like it was on fire.
Michael is always saying stuff like 'work on it till you master it'. my sister-in-law started last year and she's already written a chapter for a knitting book that's going to be published.
i have this tendency to not like things that i'm not a genius at right from the start.
this has left me with 2 major hobbies:
eating and watching TV.
