crappiest taste in books - ever

i spent nearly 2 hours at Wee Book Inn.
what i was contemplating on buying?
Rushdie's 'Grimus', Defoe's 'Moll Flanders'...something by Tolstoy.
what did i end up purchasing?
A Christmas Carol (illustrated), a drawing book, and a detective story - Robert van Gulik - only because it had 'gambling', 'prostitution', and 'fiendish Chinese murderers' in the blurb.
