boneless chicken wire

the first thing my mom does when i arrive is to challenge me to Donkey Kong's answer to DDR - instead of a dance pad it's bongo drums. i have figured out why i suck at it. it's not so much about rythm as it is about hand-eye coordination. this is the reason i avoid certain sports. she is in hysterics and laughing so hard she can't speak. i announce that i hate it and don't want to play anymore.
when she leaves to run errands - i stay home and practice.

i meet my cousin 'Vin who's just moved to Canada. he's nice and has an electric guitar.
dad has actually tamed the demon dog that is Rudy. he just points and Rudy pays attention. this might explain how i turned out so well behaved despite my natural inclinations.

dad is working a night shift at the hospital which is too bad 'cause we go out for pizza. during dinner, my sister and i make fun of our inherited silent treatment/denial skills and mom tells lame jokes.

we stopped at Blockbuster to rent movies -but we were rushing as we all had to make a pit stop. peeing behind shrubbery has become old hat.

the show that they wanted to rent so much was 'Connie and Carla'. two women who dress up as drag queens to hide from the mob. i left in the middle of this to practice more bongo drums and remember not to trust their taste in movies.

i hate that i have missed home. and i don't realize it until i get here. maybe that's why i don't like staying long - as leaving makes the feeling go away. i believe the adage should be revised to 'absence makes the heart go
- who are you again?'.
the next time i get engaged i should stay in the same country.
tomorrow i have breakfast with dad and see friends.
